How I created a meme generator using OpenAI’s GPT Builder
OpenAI made an announcement on Monday, November 8, 2023, regarding the introduction of “GPTs.” This innovative feature enables users of ChatGPT to craft unique variants of the AI assistant, each designed for specific functions or objectives. OpenAI intends to facilitate the sharing of these custom GPT roles among users and is also planning to launch a “GPT Store” later this month, which will eventually include revenue-sharing opportunities for creators.
I was eager to see how I could create “My GPTs” and when I logged in to my ChatGPT account on November 10, 2023, I saw the functionality added to my account.
First things first: From what I see, you need to have an active GPT-4 (ChatGPT Plus) subscription in order to
- create GPTs
- use GPTs created by other users.
I created my first GPT in some minutes… but I did not keep screenshots from the process… so I created the second one and you can check the whole process below with screenshots.
You can see the option to create your GPTs in the menu that opens on the bottom left when you click on your account’s email.
